Now, visually high-quality workpieces can also be manufactured using the die casting process.
For normal requirements, these do not require any post-processing and still meet the highest standards with their contours. In addition, we can incorporate drill holes, undercuts, or free-form surfaces into the workpieces during production. This facilitates their subsequent installation.
 
In recent decades, die-cast parts have been installed almost exclusively “invisibly,” with the exception of zinc parts, mainly due to their rough surface structure.
With the development of high-gloss polishing as a surface finish for aluminum parts, the possible applications for die casting have increased significantly.
 
Matthies Druckguss, in collaboration with a partner from the lighting industry, has developed economical solutions for surface finishing. This led to the creation of the “Matthies cast design®” brand and made it possible to preserve the original metallic luster and natural color of the raw material aluminum.
 
Lightweight workpieces can be produced in large quantities. This offers a visual advantage with many possible applications, for example in the furniture industry, in vehicle interiors, or for furnishings.
 
Thanks to the perfected manufacturing process for die-cast parts and perfect polishing, the workpieces are also better protected against corrosion. This new process eliminates the need for costly electroplating of the parts, which protects the environment and reduces costs. There is no need to use acids, chemical cleaners, or additional polishing waxes, and electricity consumption during the manufacturing steps is significantly reduced. This means that “Matthies cast design®” also impresses in terms of sustainability.
